America's Declaration of Independence, 1776, shows their understanding of Him as our CREATOR and THE SUPREME JUDGE Our laws were based upon the laws of nature and nature's God. And the last sentence explains our nation's dependence on His divine providence for protection.

President John Quincy Adams explained in detail the Constitution must be read in light of the Declaration of Independence in His speech titled Jubilee of the Constitution . CONSIDER HOW HAVE WE FAILED TO SANCTIFY GOD IN THE MIDST OF THE CHILDREN, their TV, their entertainment, their books, their schools, their society

"...43The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

Why? They begin with different premise. The things of God which can be known are clearly seen by what He's created. Without the Spirit of God it is impossible to understand.

Communicating with others

After 1500 A.D. people needed a new land so they could get away from religious persecution and tyrannical kings and popes. Divine Providence opened America. America was opened to the Protestants. Their settlements were prospered. They survived and multiplied.

They based their lives on individual responsibility and diligent work. They knew cause and effect. They knew they had to fulfill their duties and responsibilities during the summer if they wanted to eat during the winter.

They believed in God and in the things of God.

They sought by faith to do the work God would have each of them do.

They plowed their fields and planted their seeds.

They read the good and helpful books. They redeemed their time wisely. They didn't waste their time on too much entertainment and drinking.

They rejected the things that would lead them away from God, and they walked toward the light while they could see the light of God.

For a couple hundred years, things went well, from 1610 to 1810. But within a generation after the constitution, the town talk began turning towards profits dollar-god and away from Almighty God. Things were so bad spiritually the British were able to invade and burn the government records, even most records of the original 13th amendment to the constitution. We only know of it now because of a few copies in scattered states from those days. It was a major point of contention back then. And the Brits came over to destroy and burned the records they could reach.

Some of those professing Christianity became plastic in their outward appearances to please men rather than God Almighty. Surely the contentions over slaves had much to do with the hardening of men's hearts, and the dark confusion in their souls.

This one sin against God and man remained to bring on the curse of the most terrible war America experienced. The economics of slavery was a hard question to reconcile between the north and the south.

Most peoples have experienced slavery in some form. British subjects were sometimes slaves in the royal navy, as were captured Americans.

The Egyptians enslaved the Hebrews.

Many european immigrants came over as indentured servants.

But through it all, the light of TRUTH slowly led towards freedom.

Now the question remains, Do men think they can achieve and maintain good lives by their own devices, without GOD.

None of the mechanics of government or free-enterprise will work without God's Spirit to guide and bless.
