The serpent tempted Eve with the idea of being as her own god by her own knowledge.
This is the root of humanism.
The serpent didn't even try to tempt her with the idea there is no GOD.
As various things became important to people, they were set up as gods, the golden bull, the sun, and countless others.

Man's cruelty to man worsened, and God sent the flood to cleanse the earth for Noah and his family.

Sin abounded again, and men enslaved other men, mistreated women, and generally did evil as they pleased.

They justified themselves in their power seeking by any means.

We see this working lately through kings and banks and world organizations.

The serpent has worked through whatever he found convenient at the time, Lenin, Hitler, the mighty repositories of gold and fiat money, and secret societies to plan the control of men by men. Not that all these are knowingly cooperating with each other, but that each has been used as a pawn by the enemy.

Now a stranger has risen up in the land of ours and declared to the world that America is not a Christian nation.

People are distracted by the cares of the world, by rushing to and fro. Their Sabbat (Heb 4:9) in Christ is largely ignored.

In many ways since time began, the enemy has plotted and conived to ensnare man.

This is nothing new. Only now with knowledge abounding, the world leaders and powers behind the scenes and others, have devised ways to communicate to the world at one time; power is centralizing, power of money, communications, war, and science; control of those powers is centralizing. Knowledge is abounding, sin is abounding more (Daniel 12:4) And things are happening at an exponential rate, faster than men can count all the changes or track all the changes before the next one hits.

Deut 28:43 "...The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
